この度、”男子”をテーマに活躍中のアーティスト カネオヤサチコ2018年度の展覧会を開催いたします。
カネオヤサチコの作品は、白いハイソックス半ズボンの隙間からワイシャツネクタイ髭の剃り跡まで、日常に溢れるおにいさんの姿を、ストイックなまでに一貫して描き、独自のサイケデリックな色遣いや、ユーモア溢れる描写で国内外から熱狂的な支持を集めてきました。
今回の展覧会ではカネオヤが作品内で展開してきた架空の空間「よいこ横丁」を主軸に展示構成。描き下ろし新作・旧作・プリント作品を含めて一挙大公開いたします。更に、「よいこ横丁」をイメージしたインスタレーションでは、描き下ろしのポスター作品多数！また展覧会用のオリジナルグッズも多数販売いたします。

Vanilla Gallery will hold the 2018 exhibition of Sachiko Kaneoya, an artist actively producing works with the theme of “young men”.
Kaneoya stoically and consistently draws the images of young men that can be abundantly seen in everyday life, from their white knee-high socks and gap of shorts to their dress shirts and shaved bluish faces. Her work captures the unique use of psychedelic colors and humorous descriptions that are enthusiastically supported by both domestic and international fans. This exhibition is mainly structured around a virtual space “Yoiko Yokochou” that frequently appears in Kaneoya’s work. Newly created works, old works, and prints are presented all at once.
A number of newly created poster works are also presented at an installation based on the image of “Yoiko Yokochou”!
Welcome to “Yoiko Yokochou”, a spooky town where the wind smells like a closet.
Kaneoya produces works based on various themes of "men", ranging
from shorts and white knee-high socks to shaved bluish face.
“My aim is to express young men who had gone through a short and
lustrous adolescence and then gone out in the world for several
years without any dreams and desires, getting tired of life,
hearts becoming lifeless and gray, but still with pure and
innocent bodies.”
